Angloamerican Chile asked for a hydrogeological conceptual modelling of a mine placed in the Andes Mountain Range in order to define groundwater exploration and exploitation points that allow an optimal exploitation plan.

Exploration wells construction: they will be used to collect hydrogeological data, characterize and determine advantageous places to set dewatering pumping wells in Donoso and Infiernillos pits.

Pumping wells construction: after the analysis of hydrogeological data 6 wells were constructed at the identified places with exploitation potential.

After the construction of the exploration and pumping wells, along with their tests, the hydrogeological conceptual model was enriched.

In addition, hydrogeological potential points location was determined, groundwater flow measurement was calculated and a deep well drainage net was designed and implemented.
